R15 Version 2.0 limited edition Yamaha bikes will be offered in Fiery Red which will be available for Rs.1,10,000 and 50th WGP Anniversary paint colors of and White will be priced at Rs.1,11,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).

Considering demand, Yamaha is expected to bring out at least a few thousand of these bikes into their showrooms and bookings are now beginning to get underway at Yamaha dealers across the country. Yamaha has ensured that this latest offering comes with sturdier tyres and aluminum swing arm. Gears have been engineered so as to balance the extra width of tyres and Yamaha has also ensured that the bikes deliver better torque.

These two new bikes are sure to increase sales for Harley Davidson. During the last quarter of 2011, retail sales increased globally by 10.9% while nationally by 11.8% as compared to the same period in the previous year. The Pulsar 200 NS engine uses three sparks tech instead of the usual two sparks on Pulsar motorcycles. A 199.5 cc engine will generate a maximum power of 23 bhp @ 9,500 rpm and will deliver a maximum torque of 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. Dry weight for the new Pulsar 200 NS is 145 kgs.

It records mileage of 58 kmph if driven at a constant of 55 kmph.  With a ground clearance of 167 mm, and Kerb Weight at 145 kgs, the bike boasts of a 12 liter fuel tank, and stands on 10 spoke 17' alloy wheels. Bajaj Auto, India’s second largest two wheeler manufacturers are excited at launch of KTM, Austrian brand in the country.  This brand will take the place of Probiking sports bike outlets which are on their way out.

34 new KTM stores will be set up which will also stock and sell Kawasaki Ninja 250R and 650R which are Bajaj hot sellers in India while Pulsar 220 and 200 sports bikes will be retailed through exclusive Bajaj showrooms.  Bajaj Auto owns 40% of KTM which they purchased about 5 years ago said Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto.  After investing in Probiking in 2003 and since then were setting their sights on owning exclusive distribution for a premium market.  KTM will be selling top end Bajaj models all across Europe and other foreign markets for which the company has already commenced their export operations.

Mr. Stefan Pierer, Chief Executive Officer of KTM Sportsmotorcycles AG said that demand in Europe was for higher end sports bikes and hence the company would be working alongside Bajaj Auto to introduce their latest technology into Pulsar which will be produced at the Bajaj plant situated at Chakan near Pune while the larger bikes would be produced at the KTM set up in Austria.

Mr. B V R Subbu is the man behind the success of Altius Motors.  He was previously with Hyundai and Tata Motors and has set up base in Chennai.  The diesel motorbike will be christened Altius Scimitar and will be a single cylinder indirect injection bike of 673cc.

The engine will produce 33 BHP power and 53 Nm torque which since it is highly economical can be used for daily commuting as well as adventure riding.  Specially suited for off road activities, the Altius Scimitar will be launched sometime this year.  Subbu said that the company was also looking at a series of hybrids with high performance and compact powerpacks.  So touring enthusiasts and cross country riders have something to look forward to in the coming months.

While Bajaj Auto recently released their results for the third quarter of 2011-12, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj also informed about the new launches and upcoming models from Bajaj Auto.  In the coming four months one can expect two new products one being the KTM Duke 200 which was launched on 24th January while the other will be revealed to the public on 30th January.  Sales of both these products will commence from March.

Bajaj has also announced that they will be keeping prices at same levels despite depreciating Rupee since over 35% of their earnings are from exports.  Bajaj has also unveiled the RE60 4 wheeler which will be seen on Indian roads by end 2012.  The new Pulsar too has been spotted a number of times while on test in and around Pune.  Once the company launches the new Pulsar it will have to be sent to ARAI for homologation and hence the two month delay between unveiling and launch.
