Mitsubishi will be ready with their new plug in hybrid version of Outlander, keeping up to their commitment to bring out more eco friendly and fuel efficient vehicles in the future. A number of auto companies have realized this need and are investing large amounts in their R&D activities to launch such vehicles in the coming years. However, it is hoped that infrastructure facilities are also developed and improved on parallel lines for these vehicles to be of any significance.
Mitsubishi also showcased their PX-MiEV II Concept vehicle at the Tokyo Motor Show. This is a vehicle with a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine along with 2 60W electric motors. PX-MiEV II will offer driving capacity or 500 miles or 800 kilometers on a single charge and has fuel efficiency of 60 km per liter.
The company is also ready with an all electric light truck useful for short distance commercial facilities which should be ready by 2016.
