Yamaha and Bajaj Auto optimistic about reaching targets during 2012

Despite rather dismal performance during the past year, two wheeler companies are hopeful that the coming year would be where they can reach their targets.  Sales during November recovered slightly and this is what has boosted the spirits of Yamaha India and Bajaj Auto for the coming year.  Yamaha have set targets at 4.80 lakh units while Bajaj Auto plans sales of 4 million

Mr. Jun Nakata, Director of Sales and Marketing at Yamaha India said that with a target of 4.80 lakhs the company feels that the coming fiscal will be better where sales are concerned as compared to a steep drop in sales which was noticed in the past few months.   During the month of November Yamaha India sold 39,162 units as compared to 30,310 units sold in November 2010.  The same was true in exports as well. Yamaha recorded a 44.53% increase in exports during November 2011.

Rising fuel prices and high interest rates caused many buyers to opt for two wheelers over four wheelers however this was specially noted for high performance bikes in the 150cc category.
