For quite some time now, Bentley has been in talks about launching their all new engine, the 4.0L V8. This new engine from the British car manufacturer is rumored to power the new 2012 Continental GT. Bentley will unveil the 2012 Continental GT, powered by the new 4.0L V8 at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show which is scheduled to open for public viewing on 15th January 2012.

According to reports, this new 4.0L V8 will be turbocharged to generate almost as much power as the W12. Single turbo variant of 4.0L V8 will generate 415 bhp while the twin turbo variant is going to generate ground thumping 555 bhp, which is just 20 bhp less than what the W12 of Bentley generates.

Expect Bentley to launch the new Continental GT powered by the new V8 immediately after the 2012 Detroit Motor Show. We are not sure about the pricing yet, but it will definitely be expensive than the current Continental GT!
