BMW is planning to sunset one of its premier offering, the E90 3- series. The product will stop prodcution in October this year. The new F30 generation on the other hand will get a complete makeover in terms of aesthetics.

In terms of design unlike the other BMWs, the kidney grille will be more vertical.  Since lots of other BMW models have been criticized by car critiques as been too simplistic, BMW might work harder on this one to stand out. The spy shots revealed that the car will sport 5-series based tail lamps and LEDs on the F30 3-series.

The F30 is based on a BMW's latest modular platform. This means the car might see an increased wheelbase up tp 1.5 inches as compared to the E90. The new 3-series is also expected to feature brake energy regeneration , stop-start technology, and pre-heating technology for the engine, gearbox and differential.

The range of engines on the new F30 3 Series will include turbocharged and naturally aspirated 6 cylinder as well as more frugal 4 cylinder engines. The car is expected to carry improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 in an effort to provide low carbon emitting cars to its customers.
