Mr. Y K Koo, Senior Director Sales of Hyundai Motors India announced the launch of a small car during the beginning of 2012. This he said was being targeted for use in rural sectors and no plans were in the offing for any export.

This small car will be manufactured in India and since the company has already got a stronghold in small car segment, Hyundai Motors India was very sure of its success in rural sectors where it is easier to sell small cars.

In spite of the fact that Hyundai had no new launches during 2010, there was no significant reduction in their market share which was 20.2% for the previous year and is at 19.7% as of now.

The company which exports nearly 2.25 lakh cars from India is planning on reducing exports to keep up with domestic load.

The company has also decided to launch minimum two vehicles each year to keep ahead of competition.
