Ducati proudly presents the latest addition to its product range with a series of activities held in Shanghai on 25 – 26 March for Chinese and Asia Pacific media.
Commencing with a Press Conference held at the new Ducati Caffe?, 15 Asia Pacific and 35 Chinese members of the media enjoyed direct contact with Mr. Gabriele Del Torchio (CEO and President of Ducati Motor Holding), Mr. Cristiano Silei (Commercial Director DMH) and Mr. Lucio Attina? (Brand and Apparel Manager DMH).
While the Diavel Press Conference highlights the unique features of the latest Ducati innovation to sector media, top management?s presence further confirmed the professional focus that Ducati has for the Asian markets.
“The Diavel is, without any doubt, the most exciting innovation in the Ducati 2011 line because it represents a new concept of motorcycle, declared Mr. Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO and President of Ducati Motor Holding. “It is a naked bike because it is essential, light and agile; a cruiser because it is imposing and also comfortable with a passenger; and a sports bike because it has a powerful heart, muscles, and levels of performance that take your breath away.”
“Until now,” he continued, “no segment has ever captured these characteristics in just one motorcycle. We are extremely satisfied with the Diavel, it represents the very concept of „sport? and celebrates all that Ducati has achieved in recent years. If the Multistrada 1200 represents the perfect synthesis between functionality and performance, the Diavel creates a new interpretation of performance, this time combined with technology and design.”
The event then moved on to the Diavel Media Test Ride on the 26 March. Held inside Shanghai 2010 Expo Venue, over 30 members of the media had the opportunity to ride an extraordinary route through the National Pavilions.
A series of activities inside the Italian Pavilion, which re-opened its doors to the public for the first time since the end of the biggest Expo in history, entertained the media and confirmed the innovative design and extraordinary riding pleasure that has been masterfully designed into the Diavel, a motorcycle claimed destined to shape the future.
During this unique opportunity, the media were able to fully enjoy the riding performance of the Diavel.
For connoisseurs of technology, ABS, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes deliver a confidence-inspiring sophistication while stunning looks, 162hp and 207kg (456lb) of authentic Ducati performance drives a comfortable new sport lifestyle. Merging the worlds of power and style has been achieved with convincing precision. A specially engineered 240 section rear tyre combined with famous Ducati chassis technology serves up mind-blowing handling and lean angles, whether carving through curves or just riding out for a night on the town.
Today the latest ground-breaking Ducati is available in two versions: The brand new Diavel and the flagship Diavel Carbon with a character-forming mix of aesthetic and performance components from carbon fibre bodywork to forged and specially machined Marchesini wheels.
The Diavel unveiling week, concluded with the Diavel Asia Pacific Launch and Shanghai?s most fashionable destination, the M1NT Club, provided a sophisticated and glamorous environment and the perfect location for the unveiling of a Diavel special edition.
Reflecting Diavel?s strong design character, the Asia Pacific Launch celebrated a special collaboration with the famous multi-tasking Chinese artist, Simon Ma, who painted a unique piece of art on a Black Diavel, combining his futuristic and avant-guard touch with Ducati passion.
In front of more than 500 guests, the final unveiling at 10.30pm included top Ducati management, members of Asian media from sector and lifestyle press and as well as Shanghai?s most stylish trend-setters.
The participation of established partners, AMG, Puma and Pirelli in addition to new arrivals like Stroili Oro and Fiegl winemaker, added special value to the highly successful Asia Pacific Launch of the Diavel.
