Hero Honda has been a world famous Indian brand who has managed to create awareness about the Indian motorcycle scene to the global market. But now, it seems times are changing, with Honda entering the bread and butter segment, 100cc of the Hero Honda brand, there seems to be a conflict of interest between the two strong players. The launch of CB Twister is making waves and that does not seem to be pleasing Hero Honda.
Honda owns a hefty 26 percent share that it might sell. Now, this parting away might be a blow to Hero Honda losing out on the design engineering help that it got but in turn will be saving the 3 percent royalty that it pays to Honda. Now, with the design help gone out of the house, Hero Honda needs to buck up and invest more in the in-house R&D trainings and learning’s. The further part that we foresee for Hero Honda, in the absence of Honda, will be a rough one, but perseverance might just pay it off.
But, while the two giants fight it out, the main company that will be benefiting from this whole chaos will be Bajaj Auto. The company can now focus on more cutting edge technology and good design techniques to win over Hero Honda. With Discover already creating a buzz, we don’t feel that it will be a tough fight for Bajaj.
