Mahindra & Mahindra has already met with success in the scooters market in India, and now is all set to enter the motorcycle market. Over the past months there has been news and indications from the company officials about entering the motorcycle market.

As per Anoop Mathur, Mahindra two wheelers president, the team is already moving ahead of their sales target selling one lakh scooters in just 10 months as opposed to the target of selling same number of units in 18 months. Post this; their immediate plan is to enter the motorcycle market.

If company officials are to be believed the first motorcycle from the mahindra stable will be available by end of 2010. The assembling unit is the same for both scooter and bikes.

As per sources the company is working on the motorcycle at its Italy based Engines engineering that it took over in year 2008.
After bringing in a commuter bike, the company is planning to bring in a high performance bike in the coming months.

To beat the existing leaders of the motorcycle market, M&M has to ensure that it brings in really interesting and unique products.
