Indian roads to be graced by Suzuki Gladius


Suzuki got more than anticipated success when it launched four of the world’s most reliable super sports model in India, and now wants to score higher with release of Suzuki Gladius. Suzuki first launched the super famous Hayabusa and Intruder in the market, success of which lead to release of two more heavy sport bikes Suzuki Bandit 1259S and Suzuki GSX R1000 in the Indian markets. Following Suzuki in its race to own the superbike category in India, the other players like Honda, Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki also stepped in with their superbikes. Harley Davidson too recently brought in their cruiser bikes in 12 variants.

The Suzuki Gladius is an electric start bike that will include engine displacement of 645cc 4-stroke 2 cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 90v-twin engine that will generate maximum power of 66.6 bhp at 9000 rpm and max torque of 63Nm at 7600 rpm. The bike will sport 2 piston caliper 290mm disc brake at front and 1 piston caliper 240mm disc brake at the rear. The bike will also provide a comfort ride owing to the 41 mm telescopic, coil spring, oil damped, adjustable shocker at front and link type, coil spring, oil damped spring preloaded adjustable shocker at rear. The bike has a really attractive multi reflector headlight with low beam, clear lens indicators. And a comfortable two tone seating. The bike sports a fully loaded dashboard with analog tachometer and LCD speedometer, digital dual trip meter, odometer, LCD clock, fuel warning and gear position indicator. The anticipated cost of the bike is nearly Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom).
