Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL), the country’s second largest two-wheeler manufacturer plans on achieving more than 70% of its profits from overseas markets in the coming years. The company has mega plans of giving tough competition to Honda Motor Company in the markets of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
The company plans to increase the 30% share that it enjoyed from the overseas market last year to a very competitive 70% over the coming years. The company wants to target the motorcycle market to achieve this target.
Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto -
It will take us several years, but it only shows how much headroom there is for Bajaj even if we only focus on motorcycles
The company plans on this target completion by engaging in collaboration with KTM and Kawasaki. The company is looking at Joint Venture agreements with KTM and Kawasaki such that it can gain a stronghold on its Chinese manufacturing rivals and a gain a leg up in the whole global market arena.
With the current news that the Bajaj Discover 100cc is leading its way to being the highest selling 100cc bike in the country, Bajaj can surely think of achieving its targets fairly easily.
