The fierce fight between the Indian and foreign bike manufacturer seems to have taken up a whole new turn in both the Indian and International market.
Chinese bike manufacturers are keen on entering the ever so lucrative Indian market to compete with Indian bike makers like Bajaj, Hero Honda and TVS. With the extreme cost cutting techniques that the Chinese are famous for, the Indian bike makers have a lot to think about.
But, if we are to believe the market analyst, they don’t believe that the Chinese bike makers are much of a threat to the Indian bike makers. This owing to the compromise on quality that the Chinese often seem to make and also since bike industry is not so sensitive as the car industry, the Indian bike makers have very little to worry about.
It is the inability of the Indian bike makers to produce low cost bikes that compromise on quality that has led Chinese take over with their low inventory bikes. The Chinese now sell the bikes at really low cost and derive a 70% market share in the low cost bike segments around the world.
TVS and Bajaj are already exporting their bikes to Latin America, and this advent will better check the competition that the Chinese pose to the Indian counterparts.
