The BS III norms have been into effect since April 1st, but Hero Honda had been delaying implementation of this norm due to some reasons.

Hero Honda was waiting for a final notification from the ministry of Road transport and highways for implementation of these norms in two wheelers. This notification has finally reached after a 2 month long delay in the last week of May.

Now, Hero Honda has finally started manufacturing BS3 engines for the Splendor+ bikes. After this implementation, the bike will now be available in 13 metros. But, the implementation will increase the price of the bike by Rs 500 to 1000.

The non compliance on Hero Honda Splendor+ had lead to a total loss of nearly Rs 120 crore on the BS2 versions.
