Gurgaon seems to be the lucky place where the cult bike maker has decided to open its first headquarter. The company is trying to establish its base in India with this launch.

The Harley Davidson MD, Anoop Prakash, affirmatively mentioned that the company is thrilled that it has made a benchmark establishing the first headquarter in India. After the overwhelming response for online bookings, the company looks forward to putting up showrooms and beginning deliveries next month.

The Gurgaon headquarters saw the US Ambassador to India Timothy J Roemer as the guest of honor.

The company started taking bookings since April for the 12 motorcycle models from the 2010 line up, priced between Rs 6.95 lakhs and Rs 34.95 lakhs. The delivery of these booked bikes will start in June.

The company, after Gurgaon, plans to set up head quarters in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.
